The Best Coffee Brands on Amazon

Are Gourmet Brands the Best?

Best can only truly be defined by a set of criteria, and rarely will these coincide perfectly among different people. I think many (if not most) would at least agree that gourmet brands are among the best coffee brands in terms of taste.

I would say the best evidence of this is in the high sales volumes of the top selling gourmet coffee brands. Even at a price premium that is often multiples of the price of popular inexpensive coffees, they are still among the best-selling coffees overall.

In the future will be updating this article to share more specifically what my criteria is in selecting the brands that I consider to be the best and to include other types of coffee. Meanwhile, I want to begin by sharing what I consider are some of the top gourmet coffee brands on

Gourmet Coffee That Tastes Great and is Healthy Too

The entire process that begins with cultivation methods and ends with roasting the coffee beans can be designed so that the coffee ends up being both exceptionally good and exceptionally healthy. This is precisely what the following two coffee brands are known for.

Lifeboost Coffee

Lifeboost doesn’t advertise its coffee as gourmet, though the coffee and the taste fit the description. This brand makes some pretty bold claims, and I looked into those in detail. You can read the full review in my article that answers the following question: is Lifeboost Coffee a scam or a real boost?

The potential health benefits of coffee are many, though not every coffee can maximize those potential benefits. Lifeboost is a brand that impressively accomplishes that mission.

This brand offers one of the most comprehensive guarantees.  If you’re not completely satisfied with their coffee, you will get your money back with no hassle. Getting to try a coffee that is considered by many to be in the top tier of healthy coffee completely risk free is a great reason to put it to the test.

Among the many great qualities of this coffee is a taste that’s fairly unique. It’s very smooth and not overpowering. For most buyers this is one of their favorite things, though this appeal is not quite as universally favored as the healthy aspects of the coffee.

To view their entire selection, you can visit the Lifeboost Coffee page on Amazon.

Java Planet Coffee

Java Planet has two single origin varieties that are very popular and receive very high praise. There is no question that the coffee from this brand is among the best for people who suffer from stomach conditions such as acid reflux. Customers are also very impressed by the taste and aroma.

Their Colombia Organic coffee is their most popular. The soil and conditions in Colombia where this coffee is grown bring out a unique and delicious fruit flavor.

Guatemala Organic is their second most popular coffee. Another carefully chosen combination of soil and environment produces a variation on the fruit flavor that’s complemented by a chocolate and caramel taste.

The appeal of this brand is impressive on the merits of the coffee alone, yet the reasons for its popularity go beyond that. They not only care about the quality and taste of their coffee, they are pretty much a caring company in general. You can read all about this on the Java Planet Certifications page.

At the top of that page you can select the “all coffees” tab to view other similar gourmet coffee they have, such as additional varieties of South and Central American coffee. You will also be able to see the coffee they have from other regions of the world.

They’re Small in Batch Size, but Have a Big and Bold Taste

For those not familiar with the term batch size, it’s more an indication of a fine tuned process than it is of overall volume.  Brands that mass produce coffee tend to have standard roasting profiles that result in “regular” coffee, while those that roast coffee in small batches have very carefully designed profiles tailored to producing superior results.

Small batches are necessary for complex roasting profiles.  The capacity of the machines used are smaller to begin with.  A percentage of that maximum capacity needs to be identified according to the desired characteristics of the roasted coffee beans.  Additionally, a number of settings on the machines need to be monitored very precisely to achieve very specific results.

Stone Street

Gourmet Coffee brands tend to have one or a few best sellers, for a number of reasons. Sometimes limited supply of a particular bean or blend results in lower sales, and other times it’s because not all varieties have mass appeal.

Stone Street is among the exceptions, both in terms of the number of flavors that are in high demand and the variety of flavors. Among their flavors, blueberry and chocolate are the most popular.

You can get additional information and see other coffee that this brand offers on the Stone Street Coffee page on Amazon.

Koffee Kult

I have previously looked into this brand in detail, with a focus on their most popular coffee (dark roast). At the end of the Koffee Kult Dark Roast Coffee Beans: As Good as Gourmet Gets article, I mentioned a bit about their creative blends.

The one I would like to highlight here is the Eye Cracker. It’s a combination of coffee from Central America and Africa. The result is a range of sweet flavors (caramel, sugar, and various fruit flavors) to complement this strong espresso blend.

The taste that this coffee delivers is best explained by the art on the coffee bag above. If you want a coffee that opens your eyes to the creative and exceptional flavors that can be achieved through artful blends of gourmet coffee, this is a great choice

Gourmet Gold

Organo Gold

The Organo Gold Ganoderma Coffee benefits are many.  It’s a “mushroom coffee” that has an astonishing antioxidant content.  It’s different from other gourmet coffees in several notable ways.

Gourmet coffee aficionados often choose to buy whole coffee beans to maintain maximum freshness. Ground gourmet coffee tends to be less popular.  Even Less popular than that is instant gourmet coffee.

Organo Gold somehow breaks the barriers and makes instant gourmet coffee that most say doesn’t even taste like instant coffee. That’s pretty amazing.

This brand has quite a few alternatives that you can see on the Organo Gold Coffee page on Amazon.

Hawaiian Gold

This coffee is ideal for those who like the taste of Kona, but don’t like the high price of pure Kona. Hawaiian Gold’s Kona blend is among the best Kona coffee varieties.

The taste gets close to universal acclaim, with some even going as far as saying that it’s better than 100% Kona. More commonly, customers mention that it tastes exceptionally well and is hardly different from single origin Kona.

The biggest thing going for this coffee is that the price is much lower compared to pure Kona. With most buyers being in the “very close to 100% Kona” to “even better than 100% Kona” range (including everything in between), it’s the far lower price that really solidifies Hawaiian Gold as one of the most popular Kona brands.
