Hello everyone. My name is George, and I am the creator of this “classy caffeine” guide to the gourmet coffee experience. I have lived about half of my life in Puerto Rico, where I was born and raised (and where I am currently living since returning to PR in 2008 after some years stateside). Puerto Rico is home to one of only 5 super premium coffees in all of the world (Alto Grande coffee). There are also many other superb coffees from Puerto Rico, so naturally I have developed a taste for various local “classy caffeine” varieties. I have also been on a journey to broaden my horizons by finding out more about every possible aspect related to pursuing the goal of that “perfect cup of coffee.”
How I Discovered Gourmet Coffee
I’m a pretty simple guy who happened to “stumble upon” some really great coffee. Call me naive, but for many years I never even knew there was such a thing as gourmet coffee. To me coffee was just a commodity, like any basic pantry item such as flour or sugar.
Then, I quit my day job and started an e-commerce business. If you read my introduction above, then you might have guessed that selling coffee was a no-brainer. That’s how I first learned about Alto Grande coffee. I’m not affiliated in any way, other than having sold it as one of many other coffees I have also sold. I have since diversified into various other markets, and actually haven’t sold any coffee for years. It’s nothing personal, just a matter of fact business decision. Selling coffee can be lucrative, but I simply ended up moving in different directions.
By visiting this site, you might very well end up stumbling upon some amazing coffees yourselves. As well as many other things, so please do continue reading below.
Classy Doesn’t Have to Be Costly
Unless you want it to be, of course. If you want to flaunt it because you have it, there’s nothing wrong with that. I, on the other hand, prefer to be more frugal. I like to save for rainy days and to put a bit aside for retirement one of these days, but I like to drink coffee like “the rich and famous.” I like to save time, too. It’s in my nature, and it’s probably why I ended up studying both engineering and business. Fortunately, many have blazed paths I have merely followed. No need to reinvent the wheel.
I don’t like keeping secrets to myself, that’s no fun. I like to pay things forward. Maybe I can save you time, maybe I can save you money. Perhaps I can help you find an interesting article to read or a fascinating new recipe. It’s your time and your money, feel free to spend it as you wish. But if you want to get to the heart of the matter, and if you want to get there fast and easy (and even free), then this is the place to be.
My Goal is to Help You Find What You Are Looking For
Whatever that may be, as it relates to coffee. For those who want the best, no matter the price … there will be plenty for you here. For those that want the best on a budget, we’ll share the ways to do that too. Not just related to coffe beans or ground coffee. You’ll not only learn about coffee varieties here, but also things related to acquiring and brewing the coffee. We’ll take a ride on the information highways out there and pass the information to you.
If you ever need a hand or have ay questions, feel free to leave comments or questions below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
All the best,
George Good
